Wow! 7 weeks. Today was a different day than the last week.
Let me say that week 6...well, you decided to be "fussy"! Fussy in that it caused me to pull out all the books last night and read over 100 pages in one of them trying to see what the heck is going on! But today, today, has been a different day! No one told me that week 6 is considered the fussy week. In the books I read last night they even said "Dad's should take off work and consider being home more for week 6"! Really, it wasn't that bad but Parke was not himself somedays. Mostly around feedings and let me say, that sometimes adds up to 8 hours of "not yourself" hours. I felt bad for you and sometimes cried myself. It's all a part of gaining wisdom and understanding of what Parke needs with awake time, sleep time, feedings, routine etc. I prayed, family prayed, friends prayed, I spoke scripture over you and today was a different day!
Thank you Lord.
He has started to smile. He even smiled at our neighbor, June, when we went on a walk! He has started to coo a little bit too and I love hearing it. We are working on routine and have decided he is ready to cry before going to bed (hesitant to write that in thinking others will think I'm a bad mom). Literally wanted to erase that statement and decided to write it all out instead- there you have it, we let him cry!
He still loves bath time. Here are a few photo's below of 6 and 7 weeks.
Sweet Baby
He was probably talking in the picture above. I would love to be able to capture those moments but the camera (actually me) is not fast enough.
Happy 7 weeks! It is so fun to be your momma. I love it.

Chillin in your little chair to try and keep the spit up and gas to a minimum after eating.

oh sweet erynn--i wish i would have warned you about the dreaded 6 weeks!! Beware 12 weeks...it is growth spurt time again. You are NOT a bad mom for letting him cry a bit--a routine is so good for him...we are STILL working out the bugs in our routine, so the earlier the better. xoxox
The "Healthy Sleep Habits" book warns that 6 weeks is the peak of fussiness...I remember my friend Angie telling me about that. Completely forgot about it until you wrote about it. The good news is that you're past it. ;) Love you! And Parke is getting so big!
Erynn- I know that letting him cry is the BEST thing you will do for him & you. I have 2 sweet two year olds that have slept through the night & soothed themself to sleep starting at 6 months...it is GOOD for everyone in the house!! I am ALL FOR the "let them cry method." It is SOO good. Our boys are only 3 weeks apart. Parke is just so cute. SOOO cute. We haven't let Micah cry himself to sleep yet...we will soon. I forgot about the 6 weeks...hope you did good...I know you are precious mommy!
