Room In Process

We happen to love projects here at the Shipley house. I love doing crafts and convinced Blake he loves to build things! My parents came over during Christmas Break and painted the room with Blake (perfect taupe). I'm so thankful they did because it smelled so bad! After it was done we went to Lowe's and Blake and I bought wood to make a bed. Yep- We wanted a twin bed in the baby's room for guests (mom's) but I also wanted storage too. We are on a budget so off to Lowe's we went. Blake worked really hard on the bed and it looks great....

On Saturday my mom surprised me and brought the bedding over. I thought it would be done sometime in February but to my surprise it was done early. I love it. The person who made the bedding is also going to make pillows and recover the glider for us. We went with orange (sweet potato), cream and blue to try and be gender neutral.
The bed is finally done and I was able to something I really liked at Anthro on sale for the bed. It's a bit on the girly side but it's not technically for the baby. As you can see, this is the bed Blake made and we put baskets under it today. They will fill up fast, I know it. I purposely didn't take a picture of the top of the bed b/c all of the huge pillows aren't done yet.
My mom found two dressers at a garage sale and so we repainted them. I also repainted a very old mirror we've had blue to match the blue in the fabric. That is all we have done for now. Blake has worked so hard on all the painting since I am staying away from that department. Once he starts something, it will be done quickly b/c he always finishes what he starts....sooner than later. We'll continue working on it. We have wall decor to pick out and little things here and there but it's coming a long. So thankful for my parents and Blake who have helped SOOO much to prepare the room...
Can't wait for it to be complete and have a little bambino in it!
