I recently did a little home project. I had the word BELIEVE framed in my living room. I think I've had it for a few years and it has had and still has significant meaning. That word became a part of my story, prayer and support from friends/family for years. I looked at it every day but with the zebra around it and the brown/gold colors I thought it needed a little touch up to go with my new colors in that room. For several days the scripture kept coming to mind in Matthew 10:30-31. I've always loved sparrows. They are such small pretty birds. To look at them and think God spent time on them is so neat. I decided to try and do something to remind me of that verse.
Got out my handy glue gun, paintbrushes (thx KT) and paint I used in Parke's room.
I took the frame down and started painting. I didn't really have an idea of what to do yet. I thought I would actually just put the word SPARROW across it and hang it back up. I then remembered I had a stencil (above).
I finished painting and got out my fabric from my drapes and made a pattern. It wasn't super easy to cut a perfect rectangle. The glue gun def. helped repair my mistakes. I fit the fabric to size, glued around the edges and touched up the frame.
Here is the finished product. I decided not to put the verse on it since I do not have pretty handwriting. It will just be my little reminder to "Fear not, therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows." After doing this little project I was at the kitchen sink doing dishes one day. 2 sparrows landed on the window in front of me and just sat to chat for a while. It was a gift from God. Just giving me a little affirmation that he does know the # of hairs on my head (that I am losing like it's my job) and that I am more valuable to him then those pretty little birds He named Sparrows.
